Three or four Blenheim members take the last week of the season for an holiday on the Avon at Downton, on the Hale Park Syndicate water, on which we have four double rods.
Throughout the week the chub were the most obliging, with fish around the four or five pounds mark. On the Wednesday five Blenheim members fished, where all managed to catch a number of chub, up to five and a half pounds.

Only one dace was caught on the day and one barbel around the six and a half pounds mark.
One member hooked into a good sea trout thought to be about six or seven pounds, but the fish managed to dislodge the hook after some five or ten minutes struggle much to the dismay of an on looking member.
That day the wind blew strongly downstream from the North, the water being well coloured and pushing. All five members float fished maggot, red proving the most successful, and a good day was had by all.
