  • Working Parties

Our last two working parties were on Cargill Lake, removing some of the fallen trees
and some dangerous overhanging trees.
Our next working party will be to put the barley straw into Cargill, and we need many
hands to move the straw bales around the  banks, wheelbarrows being and essential
piece of equipment you will need. The date has not yet been decided as we are waiting
for the availability of the straw.

There are a number of canoe races to be held on the canal starting just below Coppermill
Lock and ending at the small white bridge below the viaduct before returning to the start.
Races will be in the evenings from 7.00pm until 8.30pm. with some not going the full course.
The dates are:- April 12th.  May 10th.  June 14th.  July 12th.  August 9th.  September 13th.
Anglers are requested not to interfere with any of the canoeists or their helpers and to
keep a low profile during these events.
